You don't have to be exactly on frequency, especially if you are running power, but it is much easier to get in and your audio sounds much better if you do adjust reasonably close for doppler during the pass
  2. I had the AO-91 and AO-85 uplink frequencies in each of the VFOs, and switched VFOs as AO-91 went away and AO-85 started to come into range.
